The Figgs

Howdy folks!

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted an update so here we go… We have been playing shows to celebrate our 30th Anniversary and will continue these into next year (see the current schedule of shows below).

Mike has a new record called Headphone Music. So far, it is only available on vinyl and that is almost sold out. Check out the store on this site, maybe a few will become available and also keep an eye out for a digital download of the album which will be available soon. Mike is playing some solo shows to promote the record (see his schedule of shows below as well).

Pete D. has been working all year on the reissue of our first record as The Figgs which is called Ginger. We had the master tapes baked and Pete remixed the entire record.  We are in the artwork stages, and hope to have it out on vinyl in the next few months. The vinyl will come with a download card which will include lots of outtakes, alt mixes, demos, and maybe some live stuff from that period 1991-1992. This will be the first reissue since it was released in 1992 on cassette only. The vinyl will be a Stomper joint release with our friends Peterwalkee Records. More news when we get closer to the release date.

After taking a summer break from recording, we are heading back into the studio in November to continue work on our next record. Lots of songs already in the can, more to be written and cut.

And finally, we lost another very dear friend of the band recently. We met Eric Harmon when we went on tour with Chainsaw Kittens in 1994. Eric was our road manager / gear tech during parts of the EP Fans Only and Sucking In Stereo tours as well as being Graham’s guitar tech and Hayes’s drum tech during the Deepcut To Nowhere tour in 2001-2002. He was a monster on drums, a huge fan of our band and we are a huge fan of his. Another huge loss. Hopefully, he is jamming somewhere with Ted.  Rest in Peace E.
